Antarctic Treaty Meetings

The Antarctic Treaty establishes that parties to the Treaty should meet regularly to discuss relevant issues. Currently, this is accomplished by yearly meetings known as Antarctic Treaty Consultative Meetings (ATCMs) and Antarctic Treaty Meetings of Experts (ATMEs), which are held sporadically when it is determined that an issue needs to be discussed in greater depth.  ASOC attends both ATCMs and ATMEs as an observer, and in this capacity we present papers on important environmental issues and advocate for conservation-based decisions.  Learn more about ATCMs here, and more about ATMEs here
